Michael Kors and Google team up for Access smartwatch

Smartwatches are a curious breed that have struggled with a bit of an identity crisis. To date, it hasn’t been clear if they’re for techies, fitness buffs or average folk. The numerous models on the market span across a growing number of categories, making it hard for smartwatches to distinguish themselves in the market. One area that’s been tested, however, is that of luxury smartwatches. While this sector hasn’t been quite as successful as hoped, companies are continuing to give it a go to see if there’s untapped potential. Michael Kors is the latest brand to get in on the action, utilizing Android Wear to create the Access smartwatch. This wearable is geared towards the fashion market and features two styles, a metallic gold option and a sportier metal option that comes in charcoal. Acer Predator 21 X : Notebook with Curved Display, Kaby Lake and GeForce GTX 1080 SLI

  As part of the IFA event this week in Berlin, Acer is announcing its Predator 21 X, the industry’s first desktop replacement notebook with a curved display. The laptop is aimed at gamers without budget constraints and packs high-end gaming hardware, such as Intel’s 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors, two NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards in SLI and even a mechanical keyboard. The system can hardly be called a mobile computer because it is very large and heavy, but it still comes in clamshell form-factor and can be transported relatively easily. One of the key features is the display. The Acer Predator 21 X will be the company’s new flagship gaming notebook, which will feature a plethora of technologies that we have not seen in laptops so far. Samsung and ASUS have today simultaneously made announcements that directly affect the future of their smartwatch ranges. As we edge ever closer to Apple’s September 7 event, where we expect to see a second-generation Apple Watch, these two companies have taken the initiative to introduce their own new smartwatch hardware. Taking to the stage at IFA in Berlin today, Samsung has introduced the Gear S3 Classic and Frontier – successors to the Gear S2 , while ASUS brought its latest ZenWatch 3 to the fans’ attention.
